Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Assistant Director, Engagement on a contract for 6 months with potential extension.

The Job

The successful candidate will undertake work with a high level of sensitivity and to tight deadlines, operate under broad direction, exercise a significant degree of independence and perform an important coordination role.

Knowledge and experience

  • demonstrate an understanding of engagement strategy and delivery principles
  • demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with government processes and decision-making
  • engage with stakeholders at all levels in relation to objectives of the taskforce;
  • identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs and expectations to achieve Water Reform Taskforce outcomes;
  • be organised, apply attention to detail, have effective communications skills and manage workflow and resources whilst working in a dynamic and busy environment;
  • have a can do attitude with a desire to deliver outcomes, no matter the substance of task
  • work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work;
  • keep open lines of communication internally with a number of existing teams and agencies to ensure the success of the outcomes and
  • be accountable to work within a team, communicate effectively while managing workflow and resources.

As an EL1 equivalent, you will be part of a small team working collaboratively to deliver on government water reform commitments and genuine deliberative engagement. You will use your expertise in engagement strategy development and delivery of an engagement program to identify, prepare, and manage the overall engagement workplan of the taskforce and coordinate across multiple teams working in a similar space on similar issues with the same key stakeholders. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the work of the taskforce through policy and program activities and provide wide-ranging advice.

Contract term for up to 6 months, with the possibility of up to 12 months extension. Domestic travel opportunities available.
