Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an EL1 Assistant Director - Leadership Development on a contract for 3-6 Months, with potential extension.

Position Overview

In this role you will be part of the team responsible for the delivery of the suite of leadership programs for SES and EL employees across the APS. You will work in partnership with providers of each of the programs to ensure that programs are facilitated to a consistently high standard, reflect contemporary research and practices in the areas of leadership and adult learning, and build leadership capability across the APS.

This role provides the opportunity to:

  • influence and shape the design and development of leadership development opportunities to support SES and EL2 staff across the APS thrive and succeed
  • develop strong and effective networks across the APS, with providers and with participants of our programs
  • actively contribute to the APSC strategic priorities of shaping the APS workforce and building workforce capability

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • delivery of the suite of leadership programs to SES and EL2s including planning, delivering evaluation and reporting
  • leading and managing a small team of staff, demonstrating the skills, capabilities and behaviours our programs espouse
  • managing contracts with providers (facilitators) of the leadership programs
  • leading tender processes, including as part of a panel as required for programs of work
  • building L&D and leadership development capability within the team and across the APS

Our Ideal Candidate will have experience in:

  • designing, developing and delivering leadership programs that reflect current research and theory and deliver high quality learning opportunities
  • building, maintaining and managing relationships with providers of leadership development programs
  • leading and managing tender processes, including as part of a panel
  • building a strong and capable APS workforce through effective leadership
  • team management and leadership with experience building the capabilities of your team in the workplace
  • maintaining and promoting exemplary levels of integrity and ethical behaviour.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline clearance.
