Assistant Director Clinical Operations

Our client, a large government department, requires an EL1 Assistant Director Clinical Operations to join their team on a 12-month contract, with the potential for extension. This role will be based in Sydney and pay $70-80 per hour + Superannuation.

The EL1 Assistant Director Clinical Operations will work in collaboration with the Regional Leadership Team to oversee the provisions of clinical services across the region, within a stepped-care model.

The position will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake line management responsibilities for clinical staff and be responsible for the recruitment, selection, induction, supervision, and performance management of clinical employees to ensure their ability to meet service delivery requirements

  • Ensure all clinical work undertaken in the region is conducted in accordance with the governance requirements of OPEN ARMS
  • Provide clinical leadership in the regional application of OPEN ARMS programs, including the group program and outreach program to ensure OPEN ARMS clients are afforded appropriate services and to ensure clinical standards and practices are maintained
  • Actively contribute to OPEN ARMS National projects, clinical policies and procedures, research initiatives and Quality Assurance activities as required
  • As a member of the regional leadership group, provide supportive leadership to the region, contribute to the National Management Team, and Deputise and act for the Regional Director as required

Mandatory Clinical Qualifications

  • Qualifications must be that of a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, or Nurse with mental health experience.
  • Qualified Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Nurses must have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA).
  • Mental health accredited Social Workers must be registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

Other Qualifications

  • Working with Children (WWC) and/or Vulnerable People Checks/Clearance must be obtained prior to commencing in the position

Highly Desirable

  • Relevant experience within the Australian Public Services
  • Relevant experience in complex case management
  • Relevant experience in the leadership and management of clinical teams
  • Management experience within clinical settings
