Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an EL1 Assistant Manager on a contract until 30/06/2022 with potential extension.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will perform duties including:

  • Provide facilitation, coordination and information services to major project proponents across Australia, as well as administering the Major Project Status initiative.
  • Applying critical thinking, research and analysis of information to support ministerial decisions.
  • Stakeholder engagement, liaison and facilitation with a diverse range of stakeholders across government and the private sector.
  • Ministerial and senior executive support thorough briefs, submissions, meeting information requests, reports, and responses to correspondence.
  • Project management activities including project analysis.

Skills & Experience:

  • Decision making with the ability to provide advice based on sound judgement, risk evaluation, quantitative analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Managing, developing and supporting staff, and managing strategic direction and competing priorities to achieve timely results.
  • Written and verbal communication, including the ability to simplify and effectively communicate complex information.
  • Interpersonal skills and an ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships, including the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.
  • Organisation and coordination skills and the ability to work across multiple priorities under limited direction.
  • Working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Executive Level 1 work level standards:

An Executive Level 1 team member would generally be required to:

  • Undertake work that is complex in nature, work under limited direction with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability.
  • Exercise both initiative and judgment in the interpretation of information and in the application of practices and procedures.
  • Provide detailed technical, professional, and/or policy advice in relation to complex problems and lead in strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
  • Have public contact in relation to difficult or sensitive issues and liaise with a range of stakeholders in a representational role.
  • Manage responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows.
  • Manage working in a geographically dispersed team to achieve outcomes.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline security clearance.
