At Murrumbidgee Irrigation, our job is to deliver the best possible service to our customers, at a fair price and in the best possible way. The Asset delivery group is responsible for setting and managing the performance of MI's integrated water delivery system. The Asset Management Engineer is responsible for preparing asset management plans to effectively manage asset risks, deliver required levels of service and ensure effective management of whole of life costs for MI's infrastructure assets.


The role is a key participant in strategy, planning and performance for the creation, management and replacement of assets by supporting and assisting the Asset Strategy and Performance Group with all facets of asset management.

Purpose of the role

To lead the development and implementation of asset management plans and effectively manage MI's infrastructure assets including condition assessment, safety inspections and implementation of maintenance and improvement works.


Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering and eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia
  • 3-5 year of engineering experience.
  • Understanding of lifecycle asset management principles
  • Demonstrated experience in preparation of asset management plans.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, investigate and analytical skills.
  • Fosters a positive and productive relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to contribute to a team and to work autonomously as required.
  • Demonstrated and proactive Health and Safety Leadership and a personal commitment to Health and Safety procedures, policies and plans.
  • Experience with Corporate IT systems (e.g. MS Office, TechOne etc)
  • Current 'C' class motor vehicle licence
  • Post Graduate qualification in engineering, management and/or business studies.
  • Knowledge of water industry regulations and legislation.
