Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a APS6/EL1 Program-Project Manager on a contract for 12 months with potential extension.

About the Role:

The Better Child Care Program seeks to harmonise regulation and processes and streamline regulatory processes across jurisdictions, eliminating duplication by working in partnership with state and territories.

This will be achieved by introducing streamlined approaches to manage overlapping regulatory processes by delivering a single process to reduce regulatory burden for child care providers, strengthening the integrity efforts to prevent and detect fraud in the child care system.

In this role, you will have management of the project from end to end and will work closely with the Assistant Directors and Director, other team leads, internal and external stakeholders, business users and technical staff.

We're looking for an experienced Project Support Officer who is able to:

  • Lead the management of the Child Care Services Website project:
  • Develop, review and maintain project artefacts
  • Project Plan, Schedule and other documents as required under DESE Project Management Framework
  • Project Risk, Issues and Change Management
  • Manage project deliverables and stakeholder engagement
  • Provide support and undertake activities to support the Program Officer and Program/Projects Reports and Budget Officer
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures

Working under the limited direction of the Assistant Director, you will be required to

  • manage a delivery schedule
  • manage project deliverables
  • oversee resolution of issues and provide accurate and timely advice and status information, and
  • identify, manage, or escalate risks, issues, dependencies and constraints.

The successful candidate is required to have the following skills:

  • Strong project management skills including experience in developing project plans and an understanding of risk management, good governance and reporting and benefits realisation.
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills - capability to develop and maintain strong, productive, and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to support the delivery of the project
  • Experience in building relationships and engaging with internal and external government stakeholders and partners.
  • Effective time management skills to manage multi-disciplinary type of work.
