About the role:

The APS6 Service Designer is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents. The position is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Create and document a baseline understanding of the current state of the service, identifying, and assessing current business processes and researching staff and participant experience
  • Create and facilitate process design improvements by conducting business and systems process analysis and producing required analysis documentation
  • Facilitate design-thinking sessions with service users to design and test the future service (processes, channels and experiences)
  • Ensure that the end-to-end service experience addresses participant and staff needs, meets the Digital Service Standard and is consistent for all users across different touchpoints
  • Assist the EL1 Service Design and product owner with the use of system tools
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of proposed solutions and design at conceptual and tactical levels
  • Contribute to develope blueprints and design of the proposed service and guiding build teams


MANDATORY

  • Extensive experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and documenting a baseline understanding of the current state of the service, identifying, and assessing current business processes and researching staff and participant experience.
  • Experience in creating and facilitating process design improvements by conducting business and systems process analysis and producing required analysis documentation.
  • Experience in facilitating design-thinking sessions with service users to design and test the future service (processes, channels and experiences).
  • Understanding of evaluating the effectiveness of proposed solutions and design at conceptual and tactical levels.
  • Experience in coordinating and assisting in the management of complex cases.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one.
