Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Social Media Officer  on a Non ongoing contract until 30/06/2024.
Position Overview
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Help assist in the planning and implementation of social media for the potential 2023 Referendum
  • Management of social media enquiries including creating response templates, triaging, allocating and when appropriate directly handling incoming media items.
  • Undertake research and help with the preparation of documentation and activities regarding pertinent social media issues.
  • Assist with the management of proactive social media engagement initiatives.
  • Manage daily work allocation and compile reporting upon request to ensure that all social media activities are captured .
  • Build and maintain effective network relationships with officers at various levels of the agency, and a range of stakeholders.
  • Provide general administrative support to the agency.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:
Mandatory
  • Knowledge and experience of social media.
  • A communications or other qualification relevant to public relations.
  • Knowledge and experience in successfully completing allocated tasks, accepting stated importance of tasks and to a compliant standard while delivering results within competing timeframes and priorities.
  • Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner and work effectively as part of a team to support the efficient delivery of an electoral event.
  • Exercises judgement to solve problems while adhering to guidelines, escalates issues appropriately
  • Proven ability to communicate and willingness to engage with diverse individuals and communities and to be flexible and adaptable.
  • Demonstrated personal integrity whilst achieving results within legislative, policy and budget parameters.
  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications.
Desirable
  • Community management skills within a complex social media environment, demonstrating resilience and calm when dealing with complaints or a challenging situation.
  • Analytical abilities with the ability to obtain accurate conclusions and apply innovative initiatives to address any issues that arise.
  • Knowledge and experience putting together social media reports and being familiar with key metrics.
  • Experience working within a social media team
  • Experience in design.
