About the role:

The APS6 Senior Internal Communications Officer will be responsible for providing detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. It may be required to coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the Agency’s objectives.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Work with the Communications and Engagement Division and other key stakeholders to ensure streamlined and well-delivered content to internal and external stakeholders and audiences.
  • Write, editing and publishing content for use in a range of corporate internal communications channels, while applying a risk, brand and reputation management lens.
  • Review and implement new systems and processes to make sure the communications and engagement function is efficient and embedded within the Agency.
  • Support the development and publishing of intranet content in line with the Agency Communications and Engagement strategy and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (conformance to at least AA level).
  • Advise business areas and performing quality assurance on suitability of online content and information architecture based on best practice and accessibility.
  • Manage correspondence through team inboxes, including actioning requests or triaging requests to relevant team members for action.

MANDATORY

  • Experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office
