The Opportunity
Chandler Macleod is looking to engage a Senior Communications Officer for a contract term until the 30th of June 2023 (ongoing-non-ongoing) with potential to extend with a well-established NSW Government department. This role will be based in the Sydney CBD with flexible working arrangements on offer.

Job Specification
In this position, you will be required to perform but are not limited to the following tasks:
  • Design, develop, implement and evaluate communication strategies and content.
  • Provide specialist advice and interpret communication processes, guidelines and policies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to scope needs, resolve issues and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Create, schedule, edit, coordinate and publish communication content.
  • Contribute to business and strategic planning and develop and implement business improvement and best practice.
  • Support and mentor PAO1 (APS5) staff to build knowledge and capability
About You
To be successful in this position, you will need to have experience in the following:
  • An understanding of government and contemporary marketing communication practices.
  • Proven experience writing and editing plain, simple language content.
  • Excellent communication skills and can confidently present messages in a clear and concise way.
  • Experience working in a busy marketing communication team and can manage time and organise work.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with a range of stakeholders, with confidence to negotiate good outcomes.
  • Research and make decisions based on analytics data, subject matter knowledge and judgement.
  • Experience working on agile or traditional projects.
Essential requirements: Security Clearance level required: Baseline (or ability to obtain and maintain) AND be an Australian Citizen
Desirable Qualifications: A degree or diploma with a major in journalism, communication, public relations or marketing. Or recognised skills, cadetship or relevant experience the delegate considers appropriate to the duties of the position.
