Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Senior Communications Officer on a contract for 3 months.
Position Overview
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, implement and evaluate communication strategies and content.
  • Provide specialist advice and interpret communication processes, guidelines and policies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to scope needs, resolve issues and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Create, schedule, edit, coordinate and publish communication content.
  • Contribute to business and strategic planning and develop and implement business improvement and best practice.
  • Support and mentor PAO1 (APS5) staff to build knowledge and capability.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • An understanding of government and contemporary marketing communication practices.
  • Proven experience writing and editing plain, simple language content.
  • Excellent communication skills and can confidently present messages in a clear and
  • concise way.
  • Experience working in a busy marketing communication team and can manage time and
  • organise work.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with a range of stakeholders, with
  • confidence to negotiate good outcomes.
  • Research and make decisions based on analytics data, subject matter knowledge and
  • judgement.
  • Experience working on agile or traditional projects.

Mandatory Requirements:
  • Security Clearance level required: Baseline (or ability to obtain and maintain).
