Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage in APS6 Senior Communication Officer on a contract for 3 months with potential extension in Adelaide CBD. Overview of the position The Communications Division provides innovative, best practice strategic communication advice
and support to reach the right people, using the right channel, at the right time. Senior
Communication Officers deliver marketing and communication solutions that align to the
strategic priorities of our agency and government.
Working as part of a team, you'll design, develop, implement and evaluate marketing and
communication strategies and content. You’ll give best practice advice to stakeholders. You may
also do research, event management and project management to meet business and
communication objectives. You'll work under the limited direction of senior staff, using initiative
and judgement to interpret policy and design solutions based on user needs.
You’ll be part of a team that believes in the power of inclusion, diversity of ideas and solving
hard problems. You need to plan work by managing competing priorities. You'll contribute to
business planning, changes in workplace practices and business improvement strategies.

Desirable Qualifications:
A degree or diploma with a major in journalism, communication, public relations or marketing. Or recognised skills, cadetship or relevant experience the delegate considers appropriate to the duties of the position.

- Provide specialist advice and interpret communication processes, guidelines and
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to scope needs, resolve issues and
- Create, schedule, edit, coordinate and publish communication content.
- Contribute to business and strategic planning and develop and implement business
- improvement and best practice.
- Support and mentor PAO1 (APS5) staff to build knowledge and capability.
Key skills/knowledge to undertake the role:
- An understanding of government and contemporary marketing communication practices.
- Proven experience writing and editing plain, simple language content.
- Excellent communication skills and can confidently present messages in a clear and
- concise way.
- Experience working in a busy marketing communication team and can manage time and
- organise work.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with a range of stakeholders, with
- confidence to negotiate good outcomes.
- Research and make decisions based on analytics data, subject matter knowledge and
- judgement.
- Experience working on agile or traditional projects.

- APS6 between $60.00 to $70.00/ph + super depending on experience
- Temporary contract for up to 3 months, with possibility to extend
- Standard Hours or work - Monday to Friday
