About the role:

The APS Senior Co-design and Engagement Officer is a leadership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities including the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team. You will provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems as well as, coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development to support the Agency’s objectives.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Contribute specialist and technical advice on the use of digital technologies to deliver engagement and co-design activities
  • Contribute your research and analytical skills to evaluating engagement and co-design functions and developing and testing new approaches
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to improve the way we capture and analyse engagement data and insights to inform decision-making
  • Contribute specialist knowledge and expertise on new and innovative approaches to engaging with people with disability and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of digital engagement strategies
  • Contribute to draft reports, briefing papers, speeches, Ministerial correspondence and discussion papers for review by Senior Executives
  • Undertake data analysis to measure the effectiveness of activities and strategies, including identifying associated risks and trends
MANDATORY
  • Experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office - Expert level Excel Skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one.
Desirable skills to have for the role:
  • Gathering and interpreting customer or user experience to develop solutions to improve experience and drive change.
  • Providing strategic advice on how to design and implement digital solutions to enhance customer or user experience.
  • Maintaining a sound knowledge of innovations in digital engagement, including current tools and platforms.
  • Influencing stakeholders to drive change.
What you will bring to the role:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in building relationships both with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work within and across teams, the ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to prioritise and allocate tasks in an efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy.
