About the role:
The APS6 Risk Advisor role is a team membership position that will provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice as well as assisting in strategic planning and program management.
Some responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating risk discussions and reviews with risk owners in line with the Risk Management Framework to support the effective identification and management of operational and project risks.
  • Coordinating activities to remediate and close incidents within the Risk and Audit Team.
  • Analysing trends in mitigating risks, including risk treatment plans used to minimise potential exposure and harness opportunities.
  • Providing input into the preparation of risk reporting to stakeholders.
  • Delivering risk management training and education programs to promote risk management knowledge, skills and tools across all work areas
  • Fostering relationships with risk and assurance teams within the organisation to ensure appropriate management of shared risks and issues.
  • Providing administrative support of the Integrated Risk Management System used to manage risks, incidents and issues

About you:

Ideally you will have relevant education and experience in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations, as well as:

  • Fully vaccinated to be able to work in the office
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of relevant statutory, regulatory and policy frameworks
  • Have proven experience implementing work plans, setting tasks and priorities, and managing workflow
  • Ability to make decisions with considerable complexity and sensitivity
  • Provide accurate and specialised advice ensuring knowledge of and compliance with relevant legislation and policy frameworks
  • Show strong initiative and originality when developing and modifying approaches to tackle issues
  • Communicate effectively and negotiate with clients and stakeholders while prioritising cooperation and collaboration
