Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Reporting, Parliamentary and Media Officer on a contract for 12 months.

Position Overview

Duties & Responsibilities:
Specific duties include:
  • The delivery of HPRG’s parliamentary functions to ensure a high standard of input and coordination of Briefs, Ministerial Correspondence, Questions on Notice and Senate Estimates Briefs.
  • The preparation and co-ordination of media requests to HPRG for executive clearance and approval.
  • Coordinate and prepare various requests for HPRG input and advice.
  • Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain good professional working relationships.
  • Manage junior team members, organise training as required and assist with the development of other staff, as required.
  • Assist the section to effectively, implement change and ensure the adoption of best practice.
  • As requested, provide support to the First Assistant Secretary, Regulatory Practice and Support Division.
  • The position may also assist other functions as required.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
  • High level written and oral communications skills.
  • Proofing and editing skills, with the ability to interpret content and assess it is fit for purpose.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
  • Administration and coordination experience.
  • High level of motivation, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal, time management and communication skills.
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Applicants be eligible to obtain and maintain Baseline Security Clearance at a minimum and NV1 Security Clearance where required by the agency.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • A National Police Certificate (obtained within the last 6 months) will be required for the successful candidate.
  • Australian Citizenship is essential
  • A Baseline security Clearance is required for this position.
