About the role:
The APS 6 Project Officer will coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the Agency’s objectives.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Develop and manage project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency’s project management framework.
- Provide specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders.
- Perform independent research work and analysis including the preparation of draft reports on relevant project activities.
- Coordinate regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
- Prepare draft written material including business cases, plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation.
- Identify and assist with the management of project risks, issues, and benefits.
- Contribute to project quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
- Experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Interpersonal / collaboration capability – networking and negotiating within the branch and with external stakeholders at different levels
- Project planning and coordination experience/skills
- Problems solving skills with a focus on driving the project forward
- Adaptivity to work across a number of projects at one time
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
- Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one
Desirable skills to have for the role:
- Previous Project management experience
- Experience in the use of MS Projects to manage a project
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in building relationships both with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work within and across teams, the ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to prioritise and allocate tasks in an efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy.
