About the role:

The APS 6 Project Officer will coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the Agency’s objectives.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Develop and manage project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency’s project management framework.
  • Provide specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders.
  • Perform independent research work and analysis including the preparation of draft reports on relevant project activities.
  • Coordinate regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
  • Prepare draft written material including business cases, plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation.
  • Identify and assist with the management of project risks, issues, and benefits.
  • Contribute to project quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
  • Experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal / collaboration capability – networking and negotiating within the branch and with external stakeholders at different levels
  • Project planning and coordination experience/skills
  • Problems solving skills with a focus on driving the project forward
  • Adaptivity to work across a number of projects at one time
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one
Desirable skills to have for the role:
  • Previous Project management experience
  • Experience in the use of MS Projects to manage a project

  • Ability to work within and across teams, the ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment
