Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Officer on a contract for 6 months with potential extension.
Position Overview
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to project activities and apply project management practices and methodologies to support the assistive technology and home modifications policy development.
  • Collaborate with policy teams to draft a range of program/project activities including the production, delivery and management of project schedules, budgets, reporting requirements, delivery of project artefacts and the identification and resolution of issues.
  • Provide advice to support executive staff to lead consultations and negotiations with stakeholders.
  • Attend meetings with both internal and external stakeholders to develop and test policy ideas.
  • Coordinate meetings, including secretariat functions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage regularly with the other Project Managers working on various work streams across the Branch.
  • Contribute to Cabinet processes as required to support the Federal Budget process.
  • Actively contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive team culture.

Key Capabilities:
  • Well-developed skills and demonstrated experience in project management at an exceptional level.
  • Demonstrated application and knowledge of project management principles.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including attention to detail and an ability to produce high-quality briefs and papers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
  • Demonstrated planning and organisational skills, including ability to meet deadlines with competing priorities in a complex, changing and high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to operate under broad direction with independence to think critically, analyse and solve very complex or sensitive problems and make decisions that are based on professional judgement, evaluating evidence and risks in the context of a complex and changing environment.
  • Strong collaborative and team focussed attitude, with a proven ability to contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive team culture.


Mandatory Requirements:
