About the role:

The APS 6 Project Officer is responsible for supporting the Agency in its participation at all levels of government. The work will be varied, fast-paced, and highly valued. You will be responsible for managing complex works under the supervision of the manager. Additionally, you will communicate with various internal and external stakeholders in a representational role on behalf of the government agency.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Manage escalated participant matters as requested
  • Provide specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders
  • Perform independent research work and analysis including the preparation of draft reports on relevant project activities
  • Coordinate regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports
  • Prepare draft written material including business cases, plans, executive briefs, and corporate documentation
  • Identify and assist with the management of project risks, issues, and benefits
  • Contribute to project quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet participants needs
  • Monitor project budgets, review and report on expenditure and assist with procurement and contract management

MANDATORY
  • Extensive experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations
  • Experience in coordinating and assisting in the management of complex cases
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one
