About the organisation:
Chandler Macleod is proudly partnering with a government organisation that aims to provide support, services and information to members of the Australian Defence Force, Australian Police, war veterans and their dependants.

About the role:
The APS6 Counsellor responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Clinical services including assessment and referral, evidence based individual, couple and family counselling, and case management to eligible clients
  • Maintaining clinical records according to organisation's standards, collating and analysing data from client records, and preparing reports as required to assist in evaluating and improving service delivery.
  • Liaising and forming partnerships with organisation, the ADF, other government departments, ex-service organisations, community health and welfare agencies, and all other organisations involved in meeting the identified needs of veteran and defence force communities and families.
  • Participation in Open Arms program evaluation and research activities, contributing to project management activities that implement strategic directions and quality improvement recommendations, and provide feedback for ongoing development of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Participation in and contribution to ongoing learning and development activities and maintenance of professional status, and in community development and service promotion activities as required.
About you:
Qualifications within Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Accredited Mental Health social work or under a similar role and registration under AHPRA or AASW is required.
  • You hold a valid Working with children and/or Vulnerable People Check
  • Fully vaccinated to be able to work in the office
  • Have professional, technical or management knowledge in a specialised area
  • Adjust effectively to change using new approaches and collaborating with others
  • Successfully build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Actively identify new areas for learning, including taking on feedback about own performance
  • Navigate through complex situations and conflict while providing empathy
