Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage in APS6 Co-Design and Engagement Officer for a 12-month assignment with potential extension in Adelaide CBD.

About the Team

The Co-Design and Engagement Branch is responsible for developing a NDIS Engagement Framework which will describe the differences between co-design, consultation and information engagement. Co-Design engagement is planned and managed with input from the Co-Design Advisory Group, which has members of the Independent Advisory Council (IAC) and Disability and Carer Representative Organisations (DRCOs).

The Co-Design and Engagement Branch supports all Agency policies, processes or initiatives that require a co-design approach and/or interface with community, mainstream and sector stakeholders. The branch provides advice and operational support when engaging with sector stakeholders and the disability community. It is responsible for managing events and activities logistics for all Agency engagement.

About the Role

The APS6 Co-Design and Engagement is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents.

The position is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. Where required, the role will coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the NDIA's objectives to "build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme".

The APS6 Co-Design and Engagement will have a considerable level of public contact in relation to complex, difficult or sensitive issues. It is required to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a representational role on behalf of the branch/division/NDIA.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating critical data analysis and feedback to measure effectiveness of activities and strategies, including identifying associated risks and trends.
  • Contributing to the development, implementation and monitoring of targeted engagement strategies and align to the broader engagement strategy and frameworks, with branch and divisional business plans.
  • Building strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the NDIA's participation in a diverse range of engagement activities and events, including stakeholder meetings, information sessions, forums, conferences and webinars.
  • Contributing to the implementation and operationalisation of a targeted, proactive engagement strategy, including a forward planned events calendar, aligned to the corporate plan, broader NDIA Engagement Strategy and with branch and divisional business plans.

Key skills required for role
* Public speaking is a key part of this role
* Ability to travel intrastate and interstate

Desirable skills to have for the role
* Previous experience working within the disability sector highly desirable

What's on Offer?

  • APS6 $58.50/ph + super
  • Temporary contract for 12 months, with possibility to extend
  • Standard Hours or work - Monday to Friday, 8:30 am till 5:00 pm
