About the role:

The APS6 Business Analyst is responsible for undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the functions of the Agency.  The successful candidate will coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects that may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on the strategic or operational outcomes that support the Agency’s objectives.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Review current business processes to create a clear understanding of, and to document, the current processes
  • Produce reports, interpreting data and analysing results using standard statistical techniques
  • Coordinate divisional and branch reporting requirements to monitor and track improvement and performance outcomes
  • Develop business functional requirements and resources, consistent with contractual, legislative and policy environments
  • Translate business metrics to inform internal stakeholder requirements including efficiency, improvement and performance outcomes to optimise customer experience
  • Design and deliver workshops, communication and consultation resources that support complex systems and business information gathering and sharing
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of proposed solutions and design
  • Support the transition of business requirements over to build teams for development
  • Support verification testing of the built solution to ensure alignment to business requirements
  • Establish and implement governance and compliance processes, dashboards and management systems to track branch and divisional performance against plans and targets
  • Implement and maintain audit and risk processes, controls and undertaking issues
 
MANDATORY
  • Experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations
  • Experience in coordinating and assisting in the management of complex cases
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated experience in developing business functional requirements and resources, consistent
  • with contractual, legislative and policy environments.
  • Experience with verification testing of the built solution to ensure alignment to business requirements.
  • Experience with establishing and implementing governance and compliance processes, dashboards, and management systems to track branch and divisional performance against plans and targets.

  • Experience evaluating the effectiveness of proposed solutions and design.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • The Agency Worker Screening Check. This is only applicable to some positions within the Agency that require the occupant to have access to classified Australian Government information.
  • Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one
Desirable criteria:
  • Salesforce experience
  • Preferable prior knowledge and experience in disability and public sector
