About the Role:

The APS6 Business Analyst is responsible for analysing existing data and developing new data points that provide quality business data to support effective decision making. It will ensure complex data sets are operationalised to mitigate risks and facilitate improved risk awareness and training, reporting on emerging risk profiles and trends.

Additionally, you will provide detailed technical, professional, and operational support and advice in relation to complex problems, and coordinate and assist in contributing to highly complex, sensitive projects or work programs aimed at achieving the agency’s mission.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Review current business processes to create a clear understanding of, and to document, the current processes
• Producing reports, interpreting data and analysing results using standard statistical techniques
• Coordinate divisional and branch reporting requirements to monitor and track improvement and performance outcomes
• Develop business functional requirements and resources, consistent with contractual, legislative and policy environments
• Translate business metrics to inform internal stakeholder requirements including efficiency, improvement and performance outcomes to optimise customer experience
• Design and deliver workshops, communication and consultation resources that support complex systems and business information gathering and sharing
• Evaluate the effectiveness of proposed solutions and design
• Support the transition of business requirements over to build teams for development
• Support verification testing of the built solution to ensure alignment to business requirements
• Establish and implement governance and compliance processes, dashboards and management systems to track branch and divisional performance against plans and targets
• Implement and maintain audit and risk processes, controls and undertaking issues

Key skills required for the role:
  • Works withing an agile product development team to create products of value to people with disability and their carers.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) to identify and communicate requirements
  • Stakeholder engagement skills – ability to align stakeholders
  • Analytical skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience using JIRA and confluence.
Desirable skills for the role: 
  • Understanding of Salesforce and SAP.
  • User/service design experience.
