Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Senior Business Analyst on a contract for 12 months with potential extension for 1x12 months.

Position Overview

Duties & Responsibilities:

Understand and develop business requirements
  1. Work closely with teams across Agency divisions and external stakeholders to elicit, identify, interpret and document business requirements.
  2. Develop and utilise standard templates to write requirements specifications accurately and concisely.
  3. Analyse and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.
  4. Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.
Business Analysis and project artefact delivery
  1. Work closely with delivery teams and external partners to ensure the shared understanding of and delivery approach for the requirements.
  2. Gather requirements using a range of methods such as interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task, workflow and clinical care pathway analysis, user journeys.
  3. Manage, document and liaise with the Program delivery team on requirement changes.
  4. Develop an approach to and own the traceability of requirements.
  5. Contribute to content of internal and external communications.
Collaboration and co-design
  1. Work closely with stakeholders and delivery teams to understand dependencies, elicit contributions to project definitions through facilitating workshops and feedback loops to ensure aligned design solution.
  2. Work closely with the design team to co-create UX/UI design and solution prototypes.
  3. Participate as a proactive team member to own and deliver agreed activities throughout the product lifecycle.
Process alignment
  1. Align to the organisation’s service delivery processes.
  2. Contribute to team activities supporting agility, including daily stand-ups, retrospectives and showcases.
Requirements and outcome assurance
  1. Efficiently manage the governance of requirements across teams and stakeholder groups.
  2. Ensure projects follow agreed assurance processes for policy, security, clinical safety, architecture and design.
  3. Make decisions that are based on professional judgement, evaluating risks and in the context of a complex and changing environment.

  3. Demonstrated verbal, written and presentation communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely across technology and business teams.
  4. Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  5. Strong attention to detail.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge/understanding of the aged care sector.

Mandatory Requirements:
  1. Ability to maintain a Baseline security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a higher clearance if required by the Agency.
  2. Ability to obtain and maintain national police check.
  3. Australian Citizenship is a condition of eligibility.
