Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a APS5 Stakeholder and Communication Officer on a contract for 12 months with potential extension.
Duties and responsibilities
As a Stakeholder Engagement and Communication Officer, you will:
  • Prepare, coordinate, maintain and publish a range of written program artefacts, including strategies and guides, stakeholder management plans and registers and other resources.
  • Organise and coordinate meetings and events, including cross-agency stakeholder working groups, showcases and other engagement activities and forums. Prepare, coordinate and manage invitations, agendas, minutes, presentations and meeting materials.
  • Participate in workshops, meetings and events, and record and collate information to enable delivery of quality reporting to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to proactively assist with the design and delivery of content and communication processes, including management of stakeholder SharePoint sites and other collaboration tools.
  • Prepare communication updates, website and intranet content and presentations for both internal and external audiences.
  • Monitor and coordinate team mailboxes and prepare and coordinate responses to stakeholder queries in a timely manner.
  • Respond in a positive and flexible manner to change and embrace ambiguity.
  • Sustain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, team members and clients to encourage collaboration and teamwork.
  • Provide administrative and professional communications support
    Skills required for the position
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships, using exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders, and own work team.
  • Communicate confidently and present messages in a clear, concise and articulate manner.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and alibility to write, edit, proof-read and maintain accurate records.
  • Apply excellent time management and organisational skills, including the ability to work flexibly and with some autonomy, and manage competing priorities to meet short deadlines.
  • Undertake research and analyse data to make informed and justifiable decisions.
  • Demonstrate excellent project and event management skills.
  • Operate with personal integrity and a take customer and stakeholder centric approach to drive improvements.
    Knowledge required for the position
    Knowledge and understanding of:
  • contemporary communication practices and theories
  • legislation, policies, procedures and information management requirements relevant to the work area
  • the agency's privacy, ethics, workplace health and safety and security protocols
  • issues affecting the agency's customers and stakeholders
  • relevant business systems and tools.
    Qualifications or Experience

  • Have demonstrated administration or event experience, coordinating meetings and events, including virtually. Experience with Microsoft Teams is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrate commitment to explore, learn and adopt new technologies and ways of working, to achieve better business outcomes. Experience in publishing, particularly use of SharePoint is highly desirable.
