Our Federal Government client is seeking an APS5 Social Media Officer to join their rapidly developing Agency for a long-term temporary assignment.

About the Team:

The Media, Marketing and Digital Communications branch enhances the Agency's reputation among key stakeholders with a focus on its public image. They deliver strategic and impactful media, marketing and digital solutions, supported by market research and insights.

About the role:

The APS5 Social Media Officer will work as part of a busy and productive team to perform procedural, clerical, administrative and operational tasks that support and promote the Agency's goals and enhance its image and message in the public eye.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Helping manage the day-to-day operations of the Agency's social media platforms, including content sourcing, calendar creation, scheduling, posting and monitoring.
  • Contributing to the development and production of Media, Marketing and Digital Communications materials, in consultation with stakeholders.
  • Assisting the delivery of a targeted digital advertising strategy.
  • Ensuring employees have access to information delivered across a variety of channels.
  • Ensuring all materials are accessible and align with the Agency's style and brand guidelines.
  • Producing content for use across a variety of internal and external channels including newsletters, the Agency's intranet and website, and talking points for staff and partners as well as formal briefs.
  • Managing correspondence through team inboxes, including actioning or triaging requests to relevant team members for action.
  • Managing and growing the Agency e-newsletter.
  • Leading social media intelligence gathering and identifying opportunities for information sharing.
  • Utilising Adobe Cloud based programs to create digital assets.


Our ideal candidate will have:

  • The ability to maintain accurate records in a confidential environment.
  • Proficient skill with Microsoft Suite and Adobe products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and self-manage workloads.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field would be highly desirable.


Benefits:

  • 12 month contract with high possibility of extension
  • Full time hours Monday to Friday 7.5 hours per day
  • $55.24 per hour + super
  • Great location in Geelong with hybrid potential
