Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage in multiple APS5 and APS6 Corporate Support positions for a 6-month assignment with potential extension in Adelaide CBD.
The Planning and Performance team in the newly established Enterprise and Systems Branch, plays a key role in supporting the governance and operation of Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA).
The Planning and Performance section is a small team that assists JSA in organising its activities and ensuring they align with the Jobs and Skills Australia Act 2022, government, ministerial and departmental priorities and operational strategies.

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- supporting line areas with recruitment, people management and accommodation needs
- assisting with the delivery of key work for the section such as JSA’s Resource, Training and Development Plan, JSA’s Employee Census Action Plan and other projects as they arise
- supporting the function of the section by performing ad hock administration and project support
- assisting with developing draft documentation such as reports, instructions and guidelines
- working collaboratively and in partnership with internal stakeholders to provide advice and assistance within established frameworks on a range of corporate matters
- providing as hock assistance during surge and team member periods of leave
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following capabilities/experience and/or qualifications:
- Essential
- human resources (HR) generalist experience
- experience providing assistance with recruitment processes
- well-developed written and interpersonal communication skills
- ability to work collaboratively in a small team, with a willingness to assist colleagues to achieve team goals
- good organisation skills and experience working in a dynamic environment
- knowledge of Commonwealth Government frameworks, operations, processes and systems
- experience providing advice and assistance on a range of people matters and assisting with the delivery of HR projects
- experience drafting position descriptions, organising interviews, supporting panels and scribes
- experience with bulk recruitment would be held in high regard
APS6
Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- supporting line areas with recruitment, people management and accommodation needs, ensuring compliance with legislation, DEWR polices and guidelines
- leading the delivery of JSA’s Resource, Training and Development Plan, including identifying and implementing staff development and retention strategies and contributing to progress reports to the executive
- supporting the function of the section and JSA by assisting with the delivery of other key pieces of work, ad hock administration and projects for the team, such as the Employee Census
- contributing towards setting the strategic direction and forward work program for the section
- contributing to the development of strategic documents, reports and briefs to a high standard and in a timely fashion
- working collaboratively with internal customers to provide advice and assistance on a range of corporate matters
- providing as hock assistance during surge and team member periods of leave
- human resources (HR) experience
- experience managing HR projects with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- experience coordinating recruitment processes
- highly developed written and interpersonal communication skills
- demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a small team, in a fluid environment, supporting colleagues to achieve team goals
- knowledge or experience of Commonwealth Government frameworks, operations, processes and systems
- experience improving and maintaining workforce capability and culture would be held in high regard
- experience with bulk recruitment would be held in high regard
