An Incident Reporting Officer is sought for Disability focused organisation - go to work to make a difference every day.

Duties

  • Support the implementation, operation and monitoring of the reportable incidents handling function;
  • Assist with the management of a caseload of incidents reported to the Commission by providers, including engaging with providers, where requested, on incidents (including deaths of people with disability) and supporting the Assistant Director in the escalation of incidents for investigation or other action where necessary;
  • Support the development of advice to the Branch Manager about trends, issues, individuals of concern and inadequate investigations by service providers, through the assessment and analysis of information gathered during the reportable incidents handling process;
  • Support the education and training function for providers in identifying incidents, preventing and effectively responding to abuse, and neglect of people with disability and information about the Commission's reportable incidents handling function; and
  • Develop productive working relationships with a range of stakeholders to facilitate the work of the reportable incidents handling function, and the Commission more broadly.

You will also demonstrate;

  • Ideally you will have experience of working within Disability
  • Excellent written and Communication skills
  • A commitment to provide high quality customer service
  • Resilience and ability to manage difficult situations
  • Experience in a similar role, in particular involving frontline public contact, mostly by phone
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex information
  • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to prioritise and manage a caseload
  • Support the needs of the team by taking a flexible and adaptable approach to changing work priorities


As this role is within the Federal Government, applicants are required to hold Australian Citizenship. You must also have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
