About the role:

The APS5 Procurement and Contracts is responsible for providing policy advice within an area of specialisation with advice based on policies and legislation. You will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of stakeholder matters to resolve complex enquiries

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
                
  • Provide high level administrative support to the Procurement team, managing confidential and sensitive information
  • Provide procurement advice and support to the broader Agency
  • Deliver support and advice in relation to compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and Guidelines, Agency’s Procurement Policy and procedures
  • Assist with tracking value for money-based outcomes and preparing reports against KPIs
  • Prepare correspondence and reports, including emails and letters
  • Prepare a range of procurement related documentation
  • Enter, extract, and manipulate data to enable accurate Agency reporting
  • Contribute to team and branch planning activities including identifying opportunities for improvements
MANDATORY
  • Experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations.
  • Previous Procurement experience, preferably in a Government Agency or Department
  • Ability to understand and apply company policy and procedures
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one.
Desirable skills to have for the role:
  • Basic level of understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPR's)
  • Some knowledge of or exposure to the fields of either ICT or construction
  • SAP experience or similar relevant experiences in administrative processing through financial management systems

  • Ability to work within and across teams, the ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to prioritise and allocate tasks in an efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy.
