About the role:

The APS5 Practice Management - Finance is responsible for provide policy advice within an area of specialisation with advice based on policies and legislation as well as undertake technical activities and tasks using available information where options are not always evident.  You will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex enquiries.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Review and process invoices to ensure they are charged in line with appropriate contracts and ensuring compliance with Agency policies and procedures.
  • Assist with monthly expenditure reports, accruals and budgets as required.
  • Manage legal disbursements including witness reports, barrister fees and working with other legal and non-legal vendors as required.
  • Provide a key contact for external firms and clients for accounts related queries.
  • Undertake procedural and administrative support including mailbox management, allocating work, record keeping and data management as required.
  • Assist in preparing reports and analysing data for the branch (financial and non-financial).
  • Assist in preparing procurement documents to support the creation of work orders and contract variations.
  • Experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations
  • Experience in coordinating and assisting in the management of complex cases
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office
  • Exposure in finance
  • Invoicing
  • Strong skills in MS Office
  • Ability to understand policies, procedures, and legislation
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one
