Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS5 Practice Management Finance on a contract for 12 months.
Position Overview
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing and processing invoices to ensure they are charged in line with appropriate contracts and ensuring compliance with Agency policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with monthly expenditure reports, accruals and budgets as required.
  • Managing legal disbursements including witness reports, barrister fees and working with other legal and non-legal vendors as required.
  • Providing a key contact for external firms and clients for accounts related queries.
  • Undertaking procedural and administrative support including mailbox management, allocating work, record keeping and data management as required.
  • Assisting in preparing reports and analysing data for the branch (financial and non-financial).
  • Assisting in preparing procurement documents to support the creation of work orders and contract variations.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
Leadership and Accountability
Well-developed understanding of relevant statutory, regulatory and policy frameworks applied to a variety of interrelated activities and solutions to a range of problems.
Responsible for providing professional and policy advice within an area of specialisation or providing technical expertise that contributes to business unit outcomes.
Management Diversity and Span
Role may also be required to undertake specialist or technical research and analysis, conduct investigations, and provide advice on policies and legislation.
Job Context and Environment
Have a sound general knowledge of the role and functions of the agency and an understanding of how these relate to a specific work area.
Maintain a well-developed understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks.
