Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage two APS5 Payroll Officer on a contract for 12 months with potential extension.
Position Overview
Provision of a contractor to assist the department with the delivery of payroll services. The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Administering payment and debt recovery processes
- Undertaking reporting and reconciliations
- Sharing and building knowledge of SAP among existing payroll officers
- Reviewing and updating existing payroll procedures
- Responding to queries from NEIS participants and other NEIS stakeholders concerning the payment of NEIS Allowance and NEIS Rental Assistance
- Stakeholder liaison, including responding to email/telephone enquiries
- Applying relevant guidelines to day-to-day work and decision making.
Candidates applying for the position are expected to demonstrate the following skills and capabilities:
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel (including use of formulas), Microsoft Word and an ability to learn other IT systems.
- Ability to quickly understand and apply program guidelines to diverse participant scenarios
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage own workload and responsibilities within a fortnightly payment schedule
- Ability to operate under pressure and deliver to tight timeframes
- Ability to work in a small, busy team environment
- Commitment to integrity, accuracy and attention to detail
- Supportive of colleagues, supports team values and upholds team culture and exhibits positive workplace behaviours
- Sound program management experience
- Confident in engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Resilient, has personal drive and enthusiasm.
Essential
- Experience in payroll functions and systems.
Desired
- Experience in accounts receivable/payable, Microsoft Excel, SAP and/or an understanding or familiarity of employment services/program management is desirable but not essential.
