Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage APS5 and APS6 Media Officers on a contract for 12 months with potential extension in Adelaide.

About the Team

The Media and Marketing Branch helps inform and educate stakeholders about the Agency with a focus on participants. They deliver strategic and impactful media, marketing and digital solutions. The Media team managed media relationships, responding to media enquiries and actively promoting the Agency through key announcements, media spokespeople activity, individual stories of Agency participants and Scheme outcomes.

About the Role

The APS5 Media Officer (Labour Hire) is accountable under limited supervision to undertake moderately complex to complex work. Legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents guide the position.

It is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and allocating work to other lower level team members within a team.

The APS5 Media Officer (Labour Hire) will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex to complex enquiries.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Seeking opportunities to promote the Scheme focusing on individual participant stories with positive outcomes as a result of their Agency supports.
  • Producing media and other communications products, including media releases and talking points.
  • Developing media plans to support the Agency announcements and media opportunities.
  • Supporting in monitoring and identifying potential media risks.
  • Managing and responding to media enquiries.
  • Supporting the delivery of media engagement and public relations activities.
  • Undertaking a wide variety of general tasks as required, including but not limited to managing inbox enquiries, organising photo shoots and providing content to varied internal stakeholders.

About the Role

The APS6 Media Officer is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents.

The position will provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. It may be required to coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the Agency's objectives to "build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme".

The APS6 Media Officer will help inform and build support for the Agency and site. The role will work with internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of a range of media solutions and opportunities for the Agency, and be responsible for developing media and other communications products to support the Agency's work.

  • Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Seeking opportunities to promote the Scheme, with a particular focus on pursuing individual stories about participants and their Agency supports.
  • Managing relationships and developing strong networks and positive connections with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to journalists, service providers, Local Area Coordinators (LACs), and Agency Partners.
  • Producing media and other communications products, including media releases and talking points.
  • Developing media plans to support Agency announcements and media opportunities.
  • Supporting in monitoring and identifying potential media risks.
  • Managing and responding to media enquiries.
  • Supporting the delivery of media engagement and public relations activities.
  • Undertaking a wide variety of general tasks as required, including but not limited to managing inbox enquiries, organising photo shoots and providing content to varied internal stakeholders.
  • Providing support for reporting, analytics and executive reporting and presentations.

  • APS5 $53.63/hr + super APS6 $58.50/hr + super
  • Temporary contract for 12 months, with possibility to extend
  • Standard Hours or work - Monday to Friday, 8:30 am till 5:00 pm
