About the role:

The APS4 Payments Officer will work within defined parameters relating to the area of responsibility. You will be responsible for providing policy advice within an area of specialisation with advice based on policies and legislation. You will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of stakeholder matters to resolve complex enquiries


Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Investigate and resolve outstanding payment requests that have been rejected through the provider and participant portals
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payment enquiries
  • Process manual payments to providers and self-managed participants
  • Work to resolve payment issues, guided by legislation, Agency policies and standards, and Payments Branch Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Contribute to decision-making within the team/work area
  • Consistently meet team and individual work resolution targets
  • Ensure knowledge of and compliance with legislative, financial and administrative frameworks
  • Maintain an awareness of government decision-making processes, Agency guidelines and regulations
MANDATORY

  • Experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office
  • Administrative Skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Workers Screening Check (WSC) is an essential requirement for this position
  • Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one
