Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage some APS4 Finance Officer on a contract for 12 months with potential extension.

About the Role:

The APS4 Finance Officer is accountable under general direction to undertake moderately complex finance related activities and tasks within established procedures and guidance.

It is a team membership position that will work within defined parameters relating to their area of responsibility. It will apply well-established policy, principles, practices and procedures to achieve outcomes that supports and contributes to NDIA's objectives to 'build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme'.

The position will provide operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by sound knowledge in finance related matters and may undertake some research and analysis activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

The APS4 Finance Officer may have a public contact role and may be required to communicate with and provide advice to a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Providing assistance with the scheme debt register, including system cancelled debts and unrecovered debts.
  • Providing assistance with debt recovery processes in line within the Scheme Debt Management Policy, including liaising with other business areas, providers and participants to Scheme debts.
  • Preparing invoices, including payment request cancellation as required.
  • Providing input into the development of Standard Operating Procedures for the team, including process mapping requirements.
  • Collecting and banking cheques in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Extracting and analysing data from SAP and other data systems for management reporting
  • Extracting data and preparing reports for Compensation and Freedom of Information requests.
  • Assisting with queries regarding pending PSCD payments and bank account issues.
  • Supporting project initiatives, collaborating with key stakeholders within the team and across the NDIA

Information Technology and Security

  • Pre-Engagement Check - this is a mandatory pre-employment security screening process. All employees and contractors of NDIA must undertake a Pre-Engagement Check.
