Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage in APS4 Claims Support Officer for a 9 month assignment in the Adelaide CBD.
The Client Benefits Division (CBD) has responsibility for the assessment of client’s eligibility and payability for Compensation and Income Support entitlements. It also manages applications for review of decisions in regard to these benefits. These functions are undertaken to give effect to defined DVA policy outcomes through registration, assessments, determinations, reviews and reconsiderations, as well as operational support activities such as quality assurance and compliance, performance reporting, business coordination and improvement and learning and development.
We administer legislation, including:
The compensation function is organised into a number of branches, locations and sections.

- Operational Services i.e. Procedural/business Support, governance and Learning & Development
Highly Desirable Skills:
- Proven experience researching and interpreting legislation, policies and procedures.
- Experience in managing complex case and client relationships, including escalated queries and issues. Experience in client-facing roles, and an understanding of the needs and challenges of veterans.
- Experience in meeting and exceeding both output and quality focused Key Performance Indicators in a fast paced, claim focused environment.
DUTIE
In accordance with the principles of workplace diversity, Work Health and Safety, participative work practices, APS values and APS Employment Principles, the duties may include but are not limited to:
- Be responsible for initiating and commencing the claims process in line with applicable policy and legislation.
- Assist Claims Delegates with tasks relevant to ongoing claims. This may include; requesting medical reports and clinical notes, liaising with medical providers, maintaining contact with veterans and their representatives and analysing and advising delegates of trends and discrepancies.
- Engage in and deliver excellent client and stakeholder service including managing initial phone and email contact and arranging appointments to open claims and respond to queries.
- Attention to detail in the management of clients’ claims including appropriate archiving, accurate record-keeping and monitoring of the claim progress.
- Conduct information gathering after liaising with the Claims Delegate and providing considered updates to the Claims Delegate.
- Action and update tasks for information requested and provided.
- Monitoring and management of electronic communications including emails and the group email box
- Identifies issues and problems that may impact on own work objectives and propose ways forward to resolve.
- Gathering statistics for Team Leader/Manager;
- Undertake additional duties as directed.

- APS4 $45.00/ph + super
- Temporary contract for 9 months with a possibility to extend
- Standard Hours or work - Monday to Friday, 8:30 am till 5:00 pm
