About the Organization:

Our Federal Government client is looking for Business Support Officers due to an influx of work within a friendly and collaborative team. An independent service and government agency of the Commonwealth, we are seeking candidates for a contract ending end of Financial year 2022 to work in hybrid style environment in the Mildura.


About the Role:


The APS3 Participant Support Officer is a team membership position and is responsible for setting priorities and managing workflow for their role and producing work that is subject to regular monitoring by more senior positions within their management structure.

The position will undertake procedural, clerical, administrative support and operational tasks including some basic research and analysis activities.

The position may have a public contact role and may be required to communicate with and provide straightforward advice to a range of internal and external stakeholders.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Providing counter/reception support for the local office including participant enquiries in the self-help kiosks and online support.
  • Managing the team shared email inbox, appointments and telephone enquiries.
  • Coordinating appointments with the use of Agency office facilities and ensuring facilities are accessible for participants.
  • Undertaking research and investigation activities and preparing associated reports and correspondence.
  • Supporting planning teams by actioning planning tasks that do not require delegation.
  • Undertaking a range of data entry activities and ensuring follow up is completed.
  • Receiving and recording complaints and other feedback in the department Business systems


    Work Level Expectations:
  • Knowledge of a range of work practices and procedures with an element of complexity and the operation of associated equipment and tools.
  • Basic knowledge of theoretical or practical tasks that are applied to one function or area of activity.
  • Responsible for organizing task allocation and checking quality of work.
  • Administrative and operational decisions chosen from a range of established alternatives within defined parameters and following established procedures and protocols.
  • Plans own work goals and priorities that align with and achieve own and team outcomes.
  • The work may involve working independently on specific tasks with issues that don't have clear precedents resolved under appropriate guidance.
  • Actions of the role may impact operational efficiency or output, or service delivery for a work area in the short term.
  • Some initiative is required in completing still largely procedural tasks, for example in responding to varying circumstances.
