Chandler Macleod has multiple upcoming temporary assignments with our Federal Government client for APS 3 Administrative Support Officer. This 6-month assignment, with possibility to extend and is conveniently located in the Adelaide CBD.
About the Branch:
The Governance and Legal Practice Services Branch sits within the Agency’s Enabling Services Group and supports the activities of the legal practice through the delivery of a range of corporate services including governance, risk, audit, administrative support and library functions.
The Branch works closely with the Chief Corporate Officer and in partnership with colleagues across the Enabling Services Group to support Agency’s Executive Leadership Group (ELG), our prosecutors in our legal practice groups and legal and enabling services business areas.
About the team:
The Administrative Support Team provides a range specialist and general administrative support services to Federal Prosecutors. The team is focused on delivering timely, quality services to support the day-to-day needs of the legal practice and has a physical presence in each Agency office.
We are inclusive, friendly and passionate in our commitment to providing high quality administrative support services to the dedicated teams of prosecutors who carry out the important work of the Agency.
Primary Outcomes and Accountabilities
The Administrative Support Officer (ASO) is responsible for providing a range of general administrative support services to the legal practice, including case administration, case preparation and witness coordination.
Working under supervision, they will liaise with staff and utilise a range of administrative, legal and digital litigation tools and systems to support the analysis and management of cases, draft routine workplace documents, emails and other correspondence.
The ASO will, under limited supervision, manage scheduling, prioritisation and allocation of their assigned tasks and assist with the achievement of broader workgroup objectives.

Primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Case Administration activities – creation and administration of case files, photocopying, filing, data entry, meeting administration, records management (including archiving).
- Witness Coordination – drafting summons/subpoenas, liaison (e.g. providing updates), arranging travel and other related tasks.
- Case Preparation – preparing materials, lodging/filing documentation, conducting basic research activities, video conferencing and arranging interpreters and translators.
- Case Liaison – liaising with Federal Prosecutors, external agencies, courts and counsel.
- Building rapport and maintaining internal and external relationships.
- Responding to enquiries and providing accurate advice in a timely manner.
- Adapting communication (both verbal and written) to suit the identified audience.
- Identifying and escalating issues to senior staff members
- Undertaking appropriate learning and development activities as required.
- Strong focus on delivery in professional services environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
