Chandler Macleod has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage an APS6 Senior Human Resource Advisor. This position is in Penrith, Full-Time for an initial contract until September 2022, with potential for extension.

You will be responsible for playing a key role in the development and implementation of new personnel policies and practices, and with coordination of consultative committees. This position will also provide operational and strategic advice on HR matters, enterprise agreement and legislative and industrial relations issues.

DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Develop, implement and govern the Commission's diversity and inclusion strategies and action plans
  • Contribute to whole of portfolio implementation of the Government's diversity and inclusion strategies
  • Develop and provide advice on a range of corporate communications for inclusion initiatives, events and programs.
  • Responding to diversity and inclusion enquiries with a strong focus on customer service
  • Contribute to the preparation of written and verbal updates of reports to senior management on the progress of human resources strategies and initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams across the branch to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
  • Manage and build relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Role model behaviours, which are inclusive, collaborative and encourage curiosity and innovation.
  • Understand issues affecting key diversity groups including but not limited to, people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTQIA+
  • Support the rehabilitation and return to work process through actioning reasonable adjustments
  • Provide expert advice on reasonable adjustment, working closely with employees and managers to implement solutions
  • Prepare accurate and timely reporting on diversity data to influence initiatives
  • Engage in complex, sensitive and sometimes difficult conversations with a diverse audience
  • Exercise sound decision-making and judgment in complex matters while maintaining discretion and confidentiality
  • Prepare high level written documentation on a range human resources issues
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in the delivery and management of work health and safety at the Commission
  • Represent the Commission in external forums as required
  • Behave in accordance with the values promoted by the Commission.

YOU MUST:

  • hold Australian Citizenship
  • be willing to undergo an Australian Federal Police check
  • be willing and eligible to obtain a security clearance to the level applicable to the position
