About the Team:
The Research and Evaluation Branch is responsible for improving evidence based decision making within the agency, finding solutions to high priority issues in the delivery of services and supports through research and evaluation effort and playing a leadership role in driving and shaping national and international disability research to maximise its impact for the organization.

About the Role:
The Senior Research and Evaluation Officer is accountable to support the delivery of evaluations of key strategic projects implemented by the agency, and other strategic research projects. The role will be required to apply their technical knowledge in a range of contexts relevant to the organization. These include disability types such as autism or visual impairment, settings such as housing or employment, interventions such as therapies or models of care, methods such as development of guidance or implementation of change, and other areas related to disability policy, services and supports.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting strategic evaluation and research projects.
  • Quantitative data collection and analysis using SAS or R, in accordance with standard operating procedures, agency's standards and ethics requirements.
  • Qualitative data collection and analysis in accordance with standard operating procedures, NDIS standards and ethics requirements
  • Supporting the development of logic models and monitoring and evaluation frameworks for other agency programs, policies and services.
  • Preparing and implementing surveys
  • Preparing ethics applications.
  • Preparing and presenting high-quality reports and presentations.
  • Enhancing the agency's use of evidence-informed practice in delivering outcomes for participants, carers and family members.
  • Building the agency's approach to innovation in delivering practice improvements and contemporary services and supports, to improve outcomes for participants (people with disabilities, their carers and families).
  • Providing technical expertise and advice on evaluation design and delivery including quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis.
  • Corresponding with internal and external stakeholders.
