Chandler Macleod group are currently seeking experienced Reportable Incidents Officers for our client in Penrith.
Reporting to the Assistant Director/ Director in a state based team, you will undertake the following duties:
- Support the implementation, operation and monitoring of the reportable incidents function
- Manage a caseload of incidents reported to the commission by providers, including engaging with providers on complex incidents (including deaths of people with disability) and escalating incidents for investigation.
- Contribute to education and training for providers in identifying incidents, preventing and effectively responding to abuse and neglect of people with disability.
- Develop productive working relationships with a large and diverse range of stakeholders including state and territory counterparts, service providers and regulatory and law enforcement bodies
- Assist with the development of advice to the manager about trends, issues, individuals of concern and inadequate investigations by the service provider
- Behave in accordance with the values promoted by the commission.

- Demonstrated experience in case management
- The ability to develop influential working relationships with stakeholders
- Sound understanding of best practice and management of reportable incidents to achieve positive outcomes
- Sound analytical skills to evaluate reportable incidents and related issues and contribute to solutions, advise and capacity building.
- Excellent written communicate skills to contribute to high quality briefings and correspondence
- Highly developed organisational skills
- Ability to identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement to achieve quality outcomes
- The ability to make sound judgements and decisions based on thorough research, problem solving, innovation and evidence based practice to achieve the objectives of the reportable incidents function.
Highly desirable: - An understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and the NDIS Act
- Lived experience of disability and demonstrated understanding of disability services in a state or territory government context
- Investigation skills in the context of responding to serious incidents and supporting vulnerable groups of people.
