About the role:

The APS 5 Project Officer is responsible for in supporting the Agency in its participation at all levels of government. Your work will be varied, fast-paced, and highly valued. You will be responsible for managing complex works under the supervision of the manager. Additionally, the APS 5 Project Officer will communicate with various internal and external stakeholders in a representational role on behalf of the government agency.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Assist in project management and coordination activities, monitoring and reviewing program and project activities against plans.
  • Contribute to the development and management of project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency's project management framework.
  • Provide advice, procedural guidance, and technical expertise in specific areas of project work.
  • Perform research work and analysis including contributing to the preparation of reports on relevant project activities.
  • Contribute to regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
  • Draft a range of written material including business cases, plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation for review.
  • Assist with monitoring project budgets, review and report on expenditure and assist with procurement and contract management.
  • Assist with the identification and management of project risks, issues and benefits.
  • Assist with project quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve program, project and business outcomes

  • Extensive experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations.
  • Experience in coordinating and assisting in the management of complex cases.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one.
