About the role:
The APS5 Communications and Engagement Officer is accountable under limited supervision to undertake moderately complex to complex work. It is a team membership position and is accountable for organising workflow and making independent decisions relating to an area of responsibility. You will undertake activities and tasks using available information where options are not always evident. You will be required to perform procedural, clerical, administrative and operational tasks. The role will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex to complex enquiries.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Developing and delivering communication and engagement activities for internal and external audiences, promoting clear and accessible content.
  • Producing content for use across a variety of channels including the agency's website and intranet, talking points for senior executives, and the execution of communications plans.
  • Supporting consultation and engagement activities with internal and external stakeholders including event or meeting logistics, secretariat duties and reporting.
  • Managing the consistent delivery and continuous improvement of the Agency's communication and stakeholder engagement channels.
  • Providing strategic communications and engagement advice to other areas of the agency
  • Supporting project administration and reporting.

  • Experience in building relationships both with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work within and across teams and adapt quickly to a changing environment
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to prioritise and allocate tasks in an efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy
