Position title: Alliance Manager - ICON Water
Contract Estimation Duration: 6 months fixed term contract
Company Type / Size: Tier 1 - Commercial
Location: Canberra - ACT
Salary / Rate: Up to $240K (incl Super - DOE)
Purpose of this position:
Responsible for managing the delivery of Water Infrastructure program for ICON water.
ICON alliance is it's last phase of completion and this role is crucial in ensuring that the program team is focused on completion and demobilisation of alliance safely and successfully.
Build successful relationships with ICON water and steer the team towards successful completion and Demobilisation of alliance.
Lead the operations to ensure the alliance delivers on quality, time, budget and to our Clients' expectation
Leadership and coaching of people/teams and working with the business functional leads in identifying their next possible opportunities as the work comes to end.
Work with the ICON leadership team in the identification and delivery of business improvement initiatives.
General Requirements:

  • Take collective responsibility (with the project management teams), for development and review of initiatives/plans and implementation to support the Demobilisation strategy
  • Responsible for full program planning and management of resources required across a program of works
  • Establish regular site visits in conjunction with project management to ensure compliance to Clients' project delivery requirements across all facets.
  • Establish, review and update project budgets and cost controls
  • Manage contracts within the Clients' procedures and implement corrective actions for efficient utilisation of plant and labour.
  • Provide and distribute reports a per agreed timeframes (includes project summary/overviews)
  • Effectively implement and follow the Clients' accounting and other policies and procedures to eliminate waste and minimise the cost of our operations
  • Examines contract documents and drawings pre work
  • Identification and estimation of risks and opportunities
  • Provision of information for sub-contractor agreements
  • Ensure detailed hand-over to project teams and oversee compliance to contract requirements, incl, but not limited to:
  • Time and resource restraints (financial)
  • Client contacts
  • Specifications / Drawings
  • Contractual restrictions communicated
  • Coordinate quote requests from Client
  • Ensure project management and adherence to client and specification requirements, including but not limited to:
  • Coordinate approvals for site variations (incl, Notification of Delay and Extension of Time)
  • Coordination of progress payment claims and resolution of issues
  • Timely finalization of contracts on completion of site works.
    Technical Scope:
  • Previous experience working for different utilities and infrastructure clients
  • Demonstrated ability in proactively building relationships with key stakeholders and developing
  • business opportunities
  • Ability to contribute to the preparation of operational budgets and review financial information
  • Understanding of various different state industrial and legislative requirements and specifications in support of operational delivery
  • To be decisive on business issues, displaying timely and quality decision making, working
    effectively under tight deadlines and pressure
  • Project planning; organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply contracts' terms and legislation provisions
  • High levels of verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate with a wide
  • variety of people

  • Ability to undertake risk management process Competent computer skills (Microsoft Office) and

  • A tertiary / post-graduate qualification in Engineering/Project Management or related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in the construction industry (or related areas), and five years in a related role would be beneficial.
  • Engineering or Trades background with demonstrable operational experience

  • Drivers Licence Demonstrable and successful experience in Water Projects and Operations Management role gained at similar level
