An exciting opportunity to join a global aerospace company, Australian-owned and operated, servicing Commercial and Defence customers worldwide.

Our engine MRO client has an exciting and newly created position for an experienced Global Planning Manager to join the business either at Ipswich, Adelaide, or Scottsdale sites who will support the Chief Operations Officer in an operational and production planning capacity.

Role Overview and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, deploy and manage the company's Operational Planning strategy, systems, methods, and procedures to successfully plan and deliver operational and production outcomes across multiple sites and product lines to meet customer requirements.
  • Integrate and deliver all planning activities through a single source of truth in the IFS ERP system.
  • Actively contribute to the Integrated Business Planning process across the company's Programs to ensure appropriate allocation of operational resources and equipment to deliver all forecast/planned customer outcomes.
  • Lead the operational and production planning staff and activities across the businesses and ensure alignment of all planning activities with the company's strategic direction, Program Integrated Business Planning requirements, and customer commitments, including the provision of:
  • Operational and production planning, scheduling, forecasting, and reporting
  • Resource planning and analysis
  • Timely and meaningful production management and performance reporting and analysis, including standard labour hours, turnaround times, and production productivity
  • Maintenance Control activities to meet regulatory obligations including Configuration management and Customer Data system management
  • Customer Technical reporting management.
  • Manage the Planning teams and activities to ensure compliance with the required regulatory and legislative frameworks and that output meets requirements in quantity, timeframes, quality, and cost for the Programs.
  • Determine and manage staffing requirements to promote effectiveness and workforce sustainability.
  • Deliver continuous improvement of the Operational Planning function and procedures.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, or Business Management
  • Extensive operational or production planning experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or maintenance environment
  • Significant experience in working with planning modules of complex ERP systems, preferably IFS
  • Forward-thinking mindset
  • Experience with establishing complex operational or production planning systems in a maintenance, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
  • A high-performance and outcomes-driven mindset with a proven ability to work to strict timelines
  • Exceptional leadership skills underpinned by a minimum of 3-5 years experience in a management/leadership role
  • Experience in working within a matrixed organisation to deliver exceptional services to internal and external customers across the organisation
  • High-level communication skills and experience working effectively within a collaborative environment
  • Highly skilled in Information Technology packages such as Microsoft Office suite and a high understanding of Information Technology
  • Previous experience as an Operational Planning leader in an engine or component MRO company
  • Knowledge and experience within airworthiness regulatory frameworks
  • Broad knowledge of and experience in maintenance practices involved with aircraft, engine, and/or aircraft component aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Lean Six Sigma or equivalent continuous improvement training
  • Appropriate Planning Training or similar
