Chandler Macleod have teamed up with a leading state government agency to find Victoria's best Child Protection Officers for a variety of Senior specialised opportunities.


Senior Child Protection Officer's

As a Senior Child Protection Officer, you will play a specialized role across one of the below areas:

Community Based
An outposted opportunity where you will work as a team to provide expert advice, support and consultation to staff and family services to assist on identified concerns for the wellbeing of children and youth. You will contribute to the development and delivery of community education to agencies regarding statutory processes and legislation. You will work towards supporting services to create early and effective interventions and engagement with families and young children.

Court officer
In a regional or metro setting, you will be responsible for the management of legal applications for court matters. You will work closely with senior Legal staff to ensure Child Protection staff across the area receive timely and appropriate legal advice regarding court matters. You will play a key role in providing strategic advice with management and government bodies on cases.

Family violence
You will be responsible for supporting and developing Child Protection Practitioners in the integration of theory and practice. You will work to strengthen case practice, improve the efficiency and delivery of services and assist practitioners to develop plans for safe and stable development of children and youth.

Non-supervisory
This is a case management role in which you will manage a full case and provide effective service delivery and support to other practitioners. You will be responsible for integrating theory and practice and expertise on case management. You will assist in the assessment of reports of alleged abuse, investigations and plans to achieve case plan objective.

Supervisory
In this role you will play a supervisory role that supports and develops Child Protection Practitioners skills and capabilities based on theory and legislation. You will work to strengthen case management practices to continue to improve the delivery of services across the team.

  5. A competitive salary - $99,872 - $110,355 plus superannuation

What you will bring to the role:

  • A Social Work Degree or Equivalent OR a recognized Diploma of Community Services Work or Similar that involved fieldwork placement is a mandatory requirement of this role
  • You will have applied knowledge in childhood development, risks and support
  • An understanding on the relevant legislative frameworks around Child Youth and Families Act
  • Proven experience in child support, social work or family related counselling services
