Our client is seeking to engage a Rostering Officer on an ongoing contract.

Position Overview

Working as part of a team on an almost even time day work shift pattern (each shift is 11 hours, 15 shifts every 28 days), you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the planning and rostering of our labour workforce in NSW to ensure delivery of the Service Plan.

Tasks will include understanding the train schedule and breaking it down in to individual train crew shifts, providing roster advice to the train crew, ensuring training and train crew administrations tasks are rostered, updating our Labour Management System, and ensuring all crews are rostered in accordance with all relevant guidelines, safety considerations, qualification parameters, Enterprise Agreement requirements while ensuring productive and efficient use of all of our available labour.

About You

In order to be successful in this role, you'll be expected to demonstrate analytical ability and a commitment to problem-solving, coupled with an innovative and creative thinking style.

High-level communication ability is essential, with verbal, written and interpersonal skills integral to success in this role. Ideal applicants will need to demonstrate relationship management strengths as a collaborative team player with clear evidence of your ability to build successful stakeholder relationships.

You will feel comfortable working as part of a team in fast-paced, dynamic, operational environments. You are looking to start your career in a large transport and logistics company or looking for a new challenge.

  • Strong Microsoft office and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of transport, logistics planning and operations will be highly regarded, but is not essential
  • Flexible to working shift and weekend work.
