Our client delivers water and wastewater services to more than 600,000 people in homes and businesses across the Lower Hunter.

We are currently looking for an experienced Administrative Officer to join their Development Services team. This person will provide support and advice to customers, developers and consultants regarding developments; assess development applications and calculation of associated fees and charges, as well as providing general administrative support for a range of activities.

The Role
Day-to-day responsibilities will vary depending on the allocated work or project, from general administrative support to specific project support when required.

Key duties include:

  • Responding to developer and customer enquiries related to development activities
  • Reviewing and assessing development, subdivision and residential building applications, as well as water and sewer main extension applications
  • Identifying developer funded mains for refund purposes
  • Calculating development loadings and developer charges in accordance with approved methodology
  • Determining Hunter Water Corporation's service requirements for applications and preparing Formal Requirements letters
  • Processing Hunter Water Deeds, including preparing and executing contract documents for the construction of water and/or sewer works through to their completion
  • Receiving and processing payments, bank guarantees and bonds
  • Issuing Section 50 Compliance Certificates
  • Determining contributions for previously laid network assets and organising payments
  • Inputting and maintaining of data in the Developer Portal, TRIM, CIS systems, and use of TRIM workflows

What we're looking for?

  • Minimum Certificate in Business Administration or equivalent work experience
  • Direct work experience in government, industry or related building sector
  • Ability to use computer software and hardware including PDF, MS Word, Excel and GIS based systems like WebGIS or equivalent
