Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS3 Administration Officer on a contract for 16 months.

Position Overview

Within the administration function, an APS3 Administration Officer is accountable under routine direction, to perform and achieve straightforward procedural, administrative and business support work. They are required to have a basic understanding of, and compliance with, relevant legislative frameworks, government decision making and client's mission and policy requirements.

An APS3 Administration Officer will work established priorities and procedures, while exercising a degree of autonomy about how their work is performed. They may prioritise and manage their workflow and produce work that is subject to routine monitoring by more senior employees. They may undertake specialist, procedural, clerical, administrative support or operational tasks including some basic research and analysis activities to support their work unit. The work may have an element of complexity.

An APS3 Administration Officer may be required to provide some limited supervision and support to employees at lower classifications, as well as providing on-the-job training to team members.

The APS3 Administration Officer may be required to liaise and apply standard procedures to meet stakeholder requirements and achieve work unit and outcomes.

An APS3 Administration Officer will work to establish priorities and procedures, while exercising some autonomy about how their work is performed. They may prioritise and manage their workflow and produce work that is subject to routine monitoring, and undertake specialist, procedural, clerical, or administrative support including research and analysis activities to support their work unit.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provision of administration duties and attend to general enquiries by telephone, electronic media or in person.
  • Provision of administrative support to the TNS staff, including but not limited to, raising and registering transition cases and other records.
  • Working across multiple systems to cross check transition records.
  • Returning of Wills to transitioned ADF members

Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to provide administrative support with a strong customer focus.
  • Demonstrated drive and commitment while working in a team environment.
  • Effective self-management skills including ability to organise and prioritise own work in a professional manner to achieve results.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline security clearance.
