Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS5 Administration Officer on a contract for 12 months with potential 12 Months extension.

Position Overview

A division of our client delivers a number of programs and services to assist client's families and their communities. The Administration Officer (APS5) will be accountable for the ongoing administration of processes and procedures in support of community support programs including compliance and business reporting. The successful applicant will have good customer service skills, strong written communication skills and the ability to work with spreadsheets with a high degree of accuracy.

The role has the responsibility of ongoing administration support across Programs such as the Family Support Funding Program grants, Community Support Coordination Program, School Mentor Program, Education Assistance Scheme and Dependants with Special Needs Program. The position is also required to collate data collected from various sources in the community to support the ongoing improvement of community engagement initiatives and opportunities for client.

The Administration Officer (APS5) will under limited direction undertake complex operational, procedural, administrative, and business support tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • work within a framework of legislation, established principles, work practices and procedures to accurately identify, interpret, understand, implement and comply with procedural policy and program requirements
  • perform assessment activities with a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • apply sound judgement to make evidence based decisions, or seek clarity and understand the reasons for decisions and recommendations relevant to the work being undertaken
  • develop a clear understanding of issues and recommend solutions to achieve outcomes
  • proactively engage relevant stakeholders to respond to complex operational, procedural, administrative and business support related enquires and apply the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to provide accurate advice and explain expectations or concerns
  • consolidate and analyse data and information, and assist in the preparation of written submissions, briefs, minutes, corporate reports and other correspondence, and
  • proactively work as a member of a high performing integrated team to deliver program outcomes.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline security clearance (or an ability to obtain one).
