Administration Officer
Location: Bentleigh
Full time Hours
Monday to Friday
Casual contract until 30 June 2023


The Department of Human Services delivers social, health and other services to individuals, families, communities, businesses and healthcare providers. Programme staff work across a range of business areas and provide support for programmes administered by the department.

The Health and Aged Care Group is responsible for the effective and efficient administration and delivery of programmes in the health portfolio and some smaller initiatives for other agencies. Programmes of work include:

Key Duties

Duties may include some or all of the following:
  • Assist with administering the departments project management /ICT and coordination activities
  • Liaise with other staff and teams to resolve and/or escalate programme issues
  • System interrogation and remediation
  • Undertake research and analysis and contribute to the preparation of reports on relevant programme activities and/or project milestones
  • Retrieve information on projects and programs for staff at higher classification levels
  • Perform preliminary research for input into reports
  • Monitor daily performance and escalate issues where necessary
  • Maintain and use information databases including data entry and data retrieval tasks to support program and project objectives
  • Check the accuracy of information and work
  • Contribute to the operations of the work area
  • Provide administrative support to work area
  • Provide information on customers for basic and routine procedures, guidelines and policy to respond to internal queries
  • Obtain cooperation of others in the resolution of minor problems to comply with technical and administrative requirements
  • Exercise appropriate delegations in accordance with legislation and guidelines.

  • Australian Citizen
  • Must undergo national police history check, reference check and employment history integrity check
  • Working with Children and Vulnerable People Check
  • Health clearance may also be required
